Thoughts: I hate hurricanes. They disrupt everything. I did a bit of unauthorized munching last night because I stayed up a few extra hours doing hurricane preparation, which made my “eat-every-2.5 hours” body hungry around midnight. I wound up chugging a cup of OJ and snacking on about 1/2 c. of raisin bran. I guess it could have been worse. At least I got some vitamins and fiber out of it. Since I wound up rather high in calories yesterday without going too overboard on junkfood, I’m counting it as a high zig-zag day and doing a low day today.
I made a trip out to Petco and Linens N Things last night after work for some cat food, cat litter, and candles. The grocery and super stores were all mobbed with people trying to stock up on everything in one place, but the specialty stores were almost empty of customers. I didn’t even need to get batteries because it turns out that my Rayovac flashlight uses 4 AA batteries, and I have about 24 rechargeable AAs all ready to go for my various electronic gadgets. Foodwise, I have enough water, cereal, shake powders, and whey to get me through a week or more and STILL be on plan, though I’m sure I’ll be bored to tears of cereal with vanilla whey and water after just one day.
Stupid hurricane.
In non-hurricane news, I used my GNC Gold Card discount at drugstore.com and splurged on some flax seed oil, 3 bottles of multivitamins (I’m down to 3 pills! Horrors!), and 2 lbs of GNC Creastack supplement (5 g creatine, 2 g l-glutamine, and various phosphates for creatine transport per serving). I thought about trying the EAS Betagen, but the stuff is just too expensive at $39 for a 30 day supply. The GNC stuff is only missing the HMB component in Betagen, and is just $15.16 for a 47 day supply. We’ll see if it makes any difference in my lifting and muscle growth after I get it next week.

Workout:
8 am cardio - recumbent stationary bike
I am such a wimp on a bike. My quads were so stiff after my pretty low resistance intervals (levels 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 at 70-85 rpm) that I was seriously dragging up to my apartment afterwards.
I’m glad that I’m only doing one day of alternative cardio (instead of my usual treadmill run) a week. Jumprope (:: winces ::) or elliptical next week!
========
The Awful Truth:
1. About 15 stress-induced M&Ms at work
2. 1 c. orange juice at home
3. 1/2 c. raisin bran at home because I was up too late
========
Brownie Points:
1. …It could have been worse. ![]()
2. Got some hurricane preparation done, and paid my outstanding online bills in case of power failure.
========
Short-term Goals:
1. Make a new batch of Stella bars, BFL cookies, and muffins to get me through the weekend storm.
2. More hurricane prep, and maybe pick up a second pet carrier at the store.
