Thoughts: Pardon this frivolous post, but I just have to share this with someone besides my sister.
A few weeks ago, I bought about 8 pounds of chicken leg and thigh quarters on sale for 69 cents a pound. Yes, I know I should be shunning the dark meat while on BFL, but boneless, skinless chicken breast costs a fortune, and I’m on a mission to gain muscle and not lose a ton of fat anyhow, so I went cheap. Anyhow, I cooked up 4 of the quarters and used them in the past week and a half, and put the remaining flat of chicken in the freezer without looking at it.
This weekend, I ran out of cooked chicken, so I brought out the frozen flat to defrost. Well guess what? When I sliced open the package, my first thought was, “Where are the drumsticks?”
That 4 lb flat of 69 cent chicken wasn’t dark thigh and leg meat after all, but mislabeled CHICKEN BREAST with ribs!
For 69 CENTS A POUND!
