BFL Journal C2W10D3

Thoughts: I suppose the election hoopla is finally finished. I’m not a particularly political person, but I did kind of care about this presidential race, and let’s just say that I stabbed my sweet potato repeatedly with a little more force than necessary before I nuked it for lunch when the electoral college vote results came in today.

Pfft. Thank goodness my Individual Ready Reserve obligation ended this past April.

I tried to take updated pictures this morning right after my upper body workout, but the pile of dishes in the sink needed my attention more. I’m pretty sure there were at least a dozen different mutated microorganisms developing in that mess. I am v. sad, because I’ve lost that exaggerated shoulder and bicep pump from the workout already, and now I’ll have to do a crapload of push-ups tonight to get it back for my pics. ;)

Sheesh…I’m now resorting to stupid guy tricks to make my arms look more jacked! Hah!

The team I joined at Club Lifestyle is requiring a mini-workout performance goal for the next week, and I elected to do 100 push-ups a day and run a minimum of 2 miles in addition to my regular BFL core workouts. Combine this with the BFL Women’s Holiday Challenge (20 push-ups, crunches, squats, and jumping jacks) and the extra OARS activities from eDiets, and I am going to be a tank by the end of the year. I think I will add in the Ab Boot Camp originally posted in the Files section of the BodyForLifeWomensClub2 Yahoo group every other day, too. BFL’s abdominal sets aren’t doing anything at all for me. I miss the days of super-sore abs following a really challenging workout.

Oh, here’s one piece of fun and catty news to round out the day. The ex-dbf has been skipping workouts recently and digging heavily into the Halloween sweets around the office. Someone’s waistline is noticeably expanding while his jawline is getting distinctly round…Squishy Skinny Fat City! I give him another month and a half before he starts to gross himself out when he looks in the mirror and begins another one of his traditional mid-winter, metabolism-stunting rounds of eating nothing but one grapefruit and a can of tuna each day.

And you all thought only teenaged girls did stupid shit like that.

;)

Here’s to the downward spiral!
