Thoughts: Lately I’ve been feeling as if I never have enough time to complete everything I want to do and all the things I NEED to do.
The necessary tasks range from simple household maintenance–spring cleaning, testing out new recipes, weekly tidying, checking household inventory for unnecessary stuff that can be sold or given away to reduce clutter, and laundry–to organizing paper work, completing some new art pieces for a show in late May, and updating my personal finance software with my current retirement account holdings.
Things I WANT to do include playing through at least ONE of my stockpiled computer games, take some new commissions, develop an oatmeal raisin protein bar, get some time at the swimming pool, learn how to use some accounting and new graphics software, study Chinese, redesign my art gallery site and the Illuminators’ Guild site, and get back to volunteering at the Orlando Humane Society again.
It’s kind of tough to do all of these things when you work 6 days a week (12 hour days for three of those, and 9 hours on the rest) and give up every morning for cardio and three lunches for weight training. I usually wind up hanging out with my family and boyfriend on my one day off (Sunday), so “me time” is pretty much limited to about 3 one-hour lunch breaks during the week and 1-3 hours every evening if I want to wake up in time to do cardio.
I desperately need to sit down and devote one of my precious hours of free time to figuring out a new schedule for my days, because winging it is not working out. I know already that my next 12 week cycle (if I choose to go for 12 weeks) will be a lot more laid back than SGX. I’m going back to 6 morning workouts a week with clean nutrition and no extra workouts. I expect to be in pretty good shape for maintenance by the time I finish my 12 weeks of SGX, so this shouldn’t be a problem.
Until then, I will just have to keep starting laundry in the mornings before work, rushing home during lunch to chuck the wet clothes in the dryer, and putting everything away when I get home at 10 pm. Most days I literally do nothing but exercise, shower, cook, eat, work, do laundry and dishes, and hit the sack. If I didn’t have the drive time to the gym for singing practice in the car, I’d get no entertainment at all during the week.
