In case any of you want to run a budget comparison using your own numbers, I’m posting my Excel spreadsheet for download.
Instructions:
1. Take a look at the tax brackets in the row and figure out where your annual taxable income falls.
2. Enter your annual taxable income in the green box under the appropriate tax bracket.
3. Enter your basic monthly expenses in the same column as your annual taxable income.
4. You may edit the monthly expenses categories to reflect your own spending habits.
5. The values for taxes, total expenses, and potential savings will be calculated automatically.
