Are you in the mood for a challenge to kickstart your fitness goals for 2007, but tired of the usual weight loss and transformation calls to action that usually turn up this time of year?
How about something a little different?
Megnut3636 at Pinkdumbbells.com is starting up a January Healthy Habits challenge where each participant chooses one or two healthy exercise or nutrition habits to develop over the next 3 weeks. Examples would be:
1) Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night.
2) Include veggies with 4 out of 6 meals.
3) Work on flexibility twice a week.
4) Prepare meals ahead of time.
You get the picture. There are no prizes here for the most fat lost or the most dramatic After pictures. We are just working on establishing healthy patterns of behavior this month that will hopefully help us succeed in our health and fitness goals for life. Transformations are always inspiring and impressive to watch, but ultimately, all of us need to make changes that will last a lifetime with no huge goal or prize to drive us, or all we have really achieved is a Body for 12 Weeks, not the much-ballyhooed Body for Life.
So think about the pitfalls, behaviors, and habits that are holding you back now and come up with some practical, real solutions and changes you can make over the next 3 weeks to overcome them. Join the Healthy Habits group at PDB if you’d like some support–we’d love to see you there–and give yourself a strong foundation for a lasting transformation starting February 1!
