10/2/07 Log: Leg Day + Run = YUCK

141.8 lbs this morning–mostly holding steady.

I had a great lower body workout, but discovered that my legs were too toasted after 45 minutes of heavy loads in squats, leg curls, and deadlifts to handle a 20 minute run. I did an incline walk jog for 30 minutes instead just to get in my cardio minutes. I will definitely have to modify my planned workouts to separate my runs from leg day, do runs in the evenings after work or add in pre-, during-, and post-workout nutrition. For today I will do the 20 minute run at lunch or after work when I am rested and carbed up again. It’s pouring down here today, so my noon walk may be nixed, but I made up for it this AM. I will do some ball ab work at my desk instead.

I did get a hard bodyweight workout in last night after work, too. Stayed away from the television despite the temptation to shove DH over to one side and zone out to Heroes and Dancing with the Stars.

Six cups of water are down, and meals 2-5 are packed. In a pinch I can scrounge up OP eats for meal 6, too. On the menu for this lovely Tuesday are chicken veggie chili con carne, Chinese BBQ pork salad with sesame ginger dressing, chicken curry with brown rice, and roast chicken breast, plum, and banana.

Who says that eating well has to be boring?

I’ll post my revised workout plan later today and get the recipes for the Chinese BBQ pork and chili con carne up tonight. By purchasing the ingredients for both of those dishes on sale this weekend, I estimate that the cost per serving is only 50 cents or so.
