I, Maggie, pledge that I shall abstain from the purchase of “new” manufactured items of clothing, for the period of 6 months. I pledge that I shall refashion, renovate, recycle pre-loved items for myself with my own hands in fabric, yarn or other medium for the term of my contract. I pledge that I will share the love and post a photo of my refashioned, renovated, recycled, crafted or created item of clothing on the Wardrobe Refashion blog, so that others may share the joy that my thriftyness brings!
Signed,
Maggie

I thought you were already doing that or did you have a “ooops” moment that I missed?

Stacy - I was signed up for 6 months from August 1, 2007 - January 31, 2008. This is a pledge renewal for the next 6 months (March 1, 2008 - August 31, 2008). I’ve found it surprisingly easy to NOT buy anything new, so I may just continue onto the end of 2008 with this with exceptions for shoes and socks.

Congrats on taking the pledge again!
I took the WR pledge myself in January, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. For that, I owe you a “thank you,” because I first heard about Wardrobe Refashion on your blog (which I just happened upon as I was linking from one of my regular fitness blog stops, to another, then another…then yours).
Slightly unrelated…another “thank you” for your mention in a previous post of “The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women.” I needed to tweak my program, and this book fits the bill perfectly. I can hardly wait to start the first workout phase next Monday.
